Think Differently About Adoption | 19 - 26 October 2015

Tell Me About Adoption Week....

Each year, Adoption Week concentrates on a particular theme to raise awareness and help to further educate those who are potentially considering adopting a child / children.

This year, the focus is on children who find themselves waiting a proportionally longer time for an adoptive family due to being considered 'harder to place'.

Sadly, sibling groups, older children, those with complex needs and children from black and minority ethnic families are amongst the children who wait longest to be adopted. Local authorities, adoption agencies, and all of us who work in adoption, will be working together during National Adoption Week to highlight the plight of these vulnerable children and to help them find forever families.

What's Happening?

First4Adoption - 'Too Old At 4' Campaign - Blackpool Tower, 17 October 6.30pm

Celebrity photographer, Mary McCartney, has taken a striking image to accompany the campaign strapline "Too Old at 4?”. This will be seen for the first time on Saturday night (17 October), projected onto City Hall at Tower Bridge in London and our very own iconic landmark, The Blackpool Tower from 6.30 – 7pm.
